In short: we don't ask for your personal information, we don't use analytics, ads or tracking cookies, and we don't sell or share anything about you.
Who we are
This policy covers californiabalconysolar.com (“California Balcony Solar,” “we,” “us”), an informational website about plug-in balcony solar in California. Questions or requests go to [email protected].
Information you give us
None right now. The waitlist form on the homepage isn't connected yet: it doesn't send or store the email address or ZIP code you type in. Before we start collecting signups, we'll update this policy to explain what we keep, why, and how to unsubscribe. If you email us, we'll use your message and address only to reply.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Like most websites, our web server records basic request data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser's user-agent string. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure. They're deleted automatically after about 14 days.
- Cloudflare. Traffic to the site passes through Cloudflare, which delivers the site and protects it from attacks. To do that, Cloudflare processes request data such as your IP address and may set a strictly necessary security cookie. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Google Fonts. The homepage loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser sends Google a request that includes your IP address. See Google's privacy policy.
We don't use analytics tools, advertising networks, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting. We use Google Search Console to see how the site appears in Google search results. That shows us aggregate search data, not information about individual visitors.
Cookies
We don't set cookies. The only cookie you may receive is Cloudflare's security cookie described above.
Links to other sites
Product cards link to manufacturers' and retailers' websites. We don't earn a commission on those links and don't share your information with those sellers. Once you leave our site, the other site's privacy policy applies.
Sharing and selling
We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We'd disclose information only if required by law, or to protect the site and its users from fraud or abuse.
Your choices and California privacy rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing [email protected]. We won't treat you differently for making a request. Because we don't track visitors across sites, your browser's “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control setting doesn't change how this site behaves; we already don't track you.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we keep what we collect to a minimum.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date. If we start collecting waitlist signups, this page will say so before the form goes live.
