Terms of Service
Effective October 1, 2026
1. Agreement
These terms apply to your use of californiabalconysolar.com (the “Site”), operated as California Balcony Solar (“we,” “us”). By using the Site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
2. Information only, not professional advice
The Site provides general information about plug-in balcony solar and California law. It is not legal, electrical, engineering, tax or financial advice. Before buying or installing any equipment, check your lease or HOA rules and your utility's requirements, follow the manufacturer's instructions, and consult a licensed electrician or attorney where appropriate.
3. The law on this Site
We reproduce the text of California Senate Bill 868 from the California Legislature's official website. The official version published by the State of California controls if there is any difference. Our summaries are simplified and may not cover every detail or later changes to the law.
4. Products and links
We don't sell any products. Product listings are for information. Prices, stock, specifications and certification status come from each seller's website on the date shown, and they can change without notice. Any purchase is solely between you and the seller, on the seller's terms. We don't earn a commission on product links. We don't control and aren't responsible for third-party websites.
5. Estimates
Output and savings figures, including the budget meter on the homepage, are rough estimates based on stated assumptions. Your actual results will vary with location, shade, orientation, equipment, usage and rate plan.
6. Safety
Electrical equipment can cause fire, injury or property damage if misused. You are responsible for choosing certified equipment, installing it safely and lawfully, and using it as the manufacturer directs. Never plug a solar kit into a power strip or extension cord unless the manufacturer specifically allows it.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use the Site in a way that breaks the law, interferes with its operation, or tries to gain unauthorized access to it or to our systems.
8. Content
The Site's original text, design and graphics belong to us. You may share links and quote short excerpts with attribution. Bill text from the California Legislature is a public record and isn't claimed by us.
9. No warranties
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We try to keep information accurate and current but don't guarantee it.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the Site, reliance on its content, or any product you buy from a third party. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here and update the effective date. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
